New UK Visa Rules for 2021 Onwards

These rules apply equally to all nationalities, including people from the EEA/EU
Skilled Worker
The biggest change will be the replacement of Tier 2 work permits with the new category of Skilled Worker
The rules and eligibility requirements will be simpler and less restrictive than they were before
Resident Labour Market Test – this will be abolished – employers will no longer need to show that they have tried, but failed, to recruit a suitable applicant from among the UK population
Annual quota of visas issued – this will also be abolished, there will be no limit on numbers
Minimum salary – in most cases, this will be reduced to £25,600 per year, and can be as low as £20,480 for "new entrants", or if the vacancy is in a shortage occupation, or if the applicant holds a PHD in a related field or a STEM subject
Seniority levels – the rules in this regard will also be relaxed: the lowest job classifications allowable will now start at RQF level 3 instead of level 6. Level 3 roughly equates to jobs where A-level education would be expected
Other Changes
There will also be some relaxation to the rules for the following categories:

Seasonal agricultural workers
Intra-Company Transfers
Global Talent
